How We Install Your Hardwood Floors
1. Free Consultation & Estimate - We come out, assess your space, discuss wood species and finish options, and give you a detailed quote. No pressure, just straightforward pricing.
2. Subfloor Preparation - We inspect and prep your existing subfloor. This includes leveling, repairing any damage, and ensuring proper moisture barriers are in place. A good subfloor is critical for long-term performance.
3. Acclimation Hardwood - needs to adjust to your home's temperature and humidity before installation. We deliver materials 2-5 days early and let them acclimate properly.
4. Installation - We install using the method best suited to your situation: - Nail-down installation (most common for solid hardwood) - Glue-down installation (for engineered or concrete subfloors) - Floating installation (for specific engineered products)
5. Sanding & Finishing - (if unfinished wood) For site-finished installations, we sand the floor smooth, apply stain if desired, and finish with multiple coats of durable polyurethane or oil-based finish. Nothing beats the custom/fresh look of a site-finished hardwood floor.
6. Final Inspection & Cleanup - We walk through with you, make sure you're happy with everything, and leave your home clean. Timeline: Most installations take 2-5 days from start to finish depending on scope of work.
